Just recently had our event there, it was in a separate room in the back, that’s had its own separate entrances to the washrooms and outside. The room was huge, and worked out beautifully for our party of approx 50 ppl. There was still quite a bit of room to spare. Trent ( the manager) and his crew were amazing! They were so accommodating, easy going, and so helpful. The food was really good, but i already knew that about Squires ;) ....the chicken wings were my favourite. I really appreciated how they let me bring in chips, pretzels and stuff like that for the tables, as well as our own cake. Everything else they supplied, including a cake cutter. They also allowed me to decorate the room however I wanted, with the exception of confetti...which I totally get. We got the “Snack buffet”, which was great, and boy we got a tonne of food....we came home with so much leftover. Lastly I’ll say, the price pretty reasonable I felt, and I would definitely recommend anyone to book your party there. Oh and kids are welcomed there as well.
We love Squire's on Fennell. The food is always fantastic and the atmosphere is welcoming. The fish and chips are the best around. The manager is a super nice guy who always makes sure you are enjoying your visit! Highly recommended!
Booked the Party Room for a 95th birthday celebration for my mother. The communication with the Manager was wonderful, very accommodating answered all of my questions and really worked with us. A few of the 44 guests had minor issues with the food but the place was just packed so the kitchen was slammed. For the most part everyone enjoyed themselves. The service was 12/10, just fantastic. The best part my mom was very pleased to have all of her family to celebrate the day. The party room is just lovely! Thank you to all the staff at Ye Olde Squire!
Really happy to have found this place. Good food for lunch and dinner at reasonable price. Burger meal and fish & chips both ample and well prepared. Sweat potato fries option. Nice atmosphere, sports screens, not too loud, booths, traditional as well as contemporary music. Tons of parking. Friendly servers.
Update: I absolutely love the new patio! It’s the bomb!! What a great addition to a favourite restaurant of ours. The server Renee was awesome! Can’t go wrong with that type of service. We went for supper on Friday night. From the outside you would never know how loud it actually was inside. It was very busy but we were sat right away and the server greeted us quickly. The buffalo butter wings tasted like barbecue sauce with a bit of butter. They didn’t taste like buffalo butter flavour at all. It was way too sweet. I had a nice glass of wine and the dessert was as good as the other ye olde squires I’ve been to. It’s their signature beer mug brownie sundae. I could never eat the whole thing but my son was more than willing to eat his and the majority of mine. I would return but get a different flavour of wings as they do make good wings.
Sincerest thank you to Trent, Kate, the kitchen staff and the bartender. We rented the private room for a function last weekend. The food was ample, hot and so tasty. The service was amazing and prompt. They were more then accommodating to our needs. It was completely wheelchair accessible and they were able to accommodate our nut alergies so that everyone could enjoy the day. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
What can I say ,you want to go to a pub,this is a pub,one of the best pubs ever.Their pub menu the absolute best most tasty choices,they leave the others behind.Going here for lunch or dinner you won’t be disappointed.The service has always been on top even during their most busy of times.Get the French onion soup they are one of the only restaurants around that do it in pastery.Coming here with a group or just by ourselves has always been a great food and beer drinking experience. If you want to go to a pub this is the pub ,Ye Olde Squire gets my 5 star across the board.
The atmosphere was so incredibly cozy, and the menu had so many different options. I love when pubs have a variety of different types of food. They have a lot of comfort food too. I ordered the fish tacos, I usually get those at places I eat out at, and I believe these were the best I’ve had to date. The fish was so yummy! Seems like a good place to go when you need some comfort.
